DK Recruitment are working with a global Manufacturer who are looking to offer an experienced and qualified Moulding Technician a new career and join their successful team based in Plymouth.

Main responsibilities:

  • Operating injection moulding machines to produce plastic components according to specifications.
  • Troubleshooting any issues with the machines or processes through root cause analysis and technical fault finding (Mechanical & Electrical).
  • Completion of routine planned maintenance - Weekly, Monthly & 6 Monthly.
  • Assisting PM Technician with annual maintenance tasks on machines.
  • Working safely and adhering to all health and safety regulations and internal procedures.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste (e.g. 5S, Gemba Activities, Kaizen, TIMWOODS)
  • Collaborating with all members of shift core team including Operators, Quality Technicians, Engineers and Shift Leaders.
  • Documenting production data and maintaining accurate records through SAP.
  • Conducting regular inspections of equipment and materials to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline is essential for this position.
  • Previous experience in a Technical based role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience of Injection Moulding is desirable although not mandatory.
  • Ability to fault find on mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
  • Ability to follow work instructions to complete routine tasks.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with others.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. outlook)
