About My Client:My client is a leading independent provider of Satellite Communications and IT managed solutions, with over 50 years of experience in the Government and Maritime markets. Known for their innovative approach and deep customer understanding, they offer a range of communication services across maritime, land, and air sectors, supporting commercial, government, and defence customers. My client provides critical communication services for disaster relief efforts, naval vessels, high-readiness military units, and more. With headquarters in Redhill, Surrey, and engineering hubs across the UK, they also operate internationally, with offices in Germany, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, and beyond.

About the Role:As a Field Service Engineer, you will join a dynamic, fast-paced team with a can-do attitude, providing expert installation, maintenance, and repair services for a range of advanced communication and navigational equipment on vessels of all sizes, from super tankers to mega yachts. You will have the opportunity to work on retrofit projects, completing large-scale system integrations and bridge installs. My client's status as a Master/Tier 1 distribution partner with leading brands ensures that you will receive ongoing manufacturer training and full technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct VDR-APTs (Voyage Data Recorder Annual Performance Tests)
  • Perform Radio Surveys and install, maintain, and repair GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) equipment
  • Install, maintain, and repair navigational equipment
  • Install and maintain VSAT satellite broadband systems
  • Work on large retrofit projects, completing bridge installs and system integrations on a variety of vessels

Requirements:

  • HNC/ONC/NVQ Level or equivalent qualification in engineering or a related field
  • IT/Engineering-based education or qualification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Marine Service Engineer
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic and electrical engineering principles
  • GMDSS Radio Operator/Maintainer Licence preferred
  • Valid passport and the ability to pass a marine/offshore worker medical examination
  • Full UK driving licence
