Are you an experienced and passionate educator ready to guide Year 6 students through the final stages of their primary school journey? We are seeking a dedicated Year 6 Class Teacher to cover a maternity leave at a vibrant and welcoming school in Plymouth.



About the Role:

  • Position: Year 6 Class Teacher
  • Contract: Temporary maternity cover (long-term)

You will play a crucial role in preparing students for the transition to secondary school, delivering the Key Stage 2 curriculum, and supporting them through SATs.



Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
  • Proven experience teaching the KS2 curriculum, with a strong understanding of Year 6 expectations.
  • Passion for fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate pupils.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Support pupils' social and emotional development during this critical stage of their education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and carers to ensure the best outcomes for all students.
  • Prepare pupils for SATs, instilling confidence and a love for learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
