Main Duties:

Working withinthe Product Design team your primary function of the Product Design Engineer will be the realisation of new products from the concept designs prepared by the application Engineers to the detailed definitions to allow successful manufacture and assembly. The role includes mathematical and CAD modelling using existing procedures and the development of bespoke solutions to suit specific designs, considering the impact of production steps, gauging and processes on the ultimate outcome.

Product Design Engineer will be project managing and creating new designs, communicating with the key stakeholders, and supporting departmental knowledge and skill dissemination. You will also be supporting the validation and verification of designs and associated documentation.

This role allows for personal development, building experience and the potential to progress either within this function or others such as Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and R&D.

Education & Experience:

  • Master’s degree, equivalent or higher, in a STEM subject such as Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics with a strong academic core.
  • Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software, Solidworks is preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Design of Rotating Equipment and Production Technologies (Turning,
  • Milling, Grinding, Precision Metrology, etc.) methods and application would be beneficial.
  • Project Management, Business processes and methods.
  • Analytical tools, statistical methods and problem-solving techniques (e.g. 6 Sigma, 8D).
  • An ability to adapt quickly, applying fundamental knowledge to new challenges
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and presentation
