Quality Control Technician•    Annual Salary: £14.15 to £16.50/hr, based on skill level•    Location: Plymouth•    Job Type: Full-time, alternating shifts

Join my clients team as a Quality Control Technician in their AS9100 accredited Quality/Metrology department. This role is crucial for ensuring the highest standards of quality inspection for products in the Aerospace industry, as well as Defence, Oil & Gas, and Medical sectors. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for precision, we want you on our team.

Day-to-day of the role:•    Conduct first-off, patrol, and final inspections of precision and complex machined components.•    Perform sample inspections and visual acceptances to maintain quality standards.•    Operate and program CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), specifically Aberlink CMM and Micro-Vu Vision systems, with opportunities for full training.•    Read and interpret complex engineering drawings (GD&T).•    Utilise metrology equipment such as Micrometers, Calipers, and Height Gauges effectively.•    Compile detailed inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:•    Quality Assurance & Engineering experience within the Aerospace industry.•    Familiarity with AS9100 standards; additional understanding is advantageous.•    Essential experience with CMM; programming skills preferred but not mandatory.•    Proficiency in reading and understanding complex engineering drawings.•    Experience with standard metrology equipment.•    Basic PC skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word.•    Knowledge of SPC, APQP, PPAP, and/or Six Sigma quality tools is beneficial.•    Ability to work flexibly on alternating shifts and adapt to changing production schedules.

Working Hours:•    Day Shift: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM.•    Late Shift: Monday to Thursday, 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM (25% shift premium).
