This full-time, on-site role based in Plymouth offers an exciting opportunity to manage procurement operations, develop supplier relationships, and drive cost-effective strategies in a dynamic environment.

Role Summary:
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring parts and components essential to operations. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in aligning purchasing strategies with business objectives while ensuring quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
    • Negotiate contracts and monitor supplier performance.
  • Procurement Operations:

    • Source and procure materials, parts, and components.
    • Manage purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records.
  • Cost Management:

    • Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Implement cost-reduction strategies effectively.
  • Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with internal teams to meet procurement needs.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in procurement, ideally within manufacturing or rail sectors.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.

This is a full-time role, working five days a week on-site in Plymouth.
