I am excited to announce an opportunity for a dynamic Buying Assistant to join my clients team at their Head Office in Plymouth. This role is integral to their expansion plans and ongoing success, supporting the Senior Buying team in driving sales, maximizing profit, and achieving stock and sales targets.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Support the Senior Buying team in sourcing, listing, managing, and developing product ranges and promotional offers.
  • Liaise with suppliers to manage ranges and maintain the product file.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
  • Research, compile, and interpret data to formulate strategies as required.
  • Ensure all relevant administrative, financial, and system procedures are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Produce regular reports for, liaise with, and provide support to stores.
  • Liaise with retail staff to ensure seamless implementation of new ranges into stores.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree is preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and interest in retail.
  • Excellent commercial understanding and communication skills.
  • Commitment and confidence with strong administrative, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient written, numerical/analytical, and PC skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, capable of working with formulas and graphs.
