Description

Develop and implement buying strategies for the retail food department.
Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and secure the best prices.
Assess the quality of the merchandise and ensure it meets the company's standards.
Analyse market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
Work closely with the merchandising team to ensure correct stock levels are maintained.
Manage relationships with existing suppliers while seeking out potential new suppliers.
Evaluate supplier performance to ensure contract compliance.
Collaborate with team members to forecast future product needs.

Profile

A successful Food Buyer should have:

An educational background in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
Experience in a buying role within the retail industry.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.

Job Offer
