Our Client has a requirement for a Quantity Surveyor, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Plymouth.

It will be an inside IR35 contract, with negotiable rates DOE. Expenses included for travelling candidates.

Role Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team on a civil defence infrastructure project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of contract costs, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. This role is critical in supporting effective financial control, risk management, and compliance.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for the project.
  • Conduct cost analysis, value engineering, and risk assessments.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships, including procurement and payment applications.
  • Monitor project progress and report on any cost variations or financial risks.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, specifications, and legal requirements.
  • Assist with tendering, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Prepare and submit regular financial reports to project stakeholders.
  • Participate in site meetings and liaise with the project team to ensure cost control.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering or defence-related projects.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and cost management.
  • Proficient in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, cost management tools).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Experience working on defence or security-related projects.
