Technical Team Leader

Hours:Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Role Overview:

The Technical Team Leader will oversee Production Technology and Maintenance techniques, with responsibilities that include:

  • Investigating and resolving losses (breakdowns, waste, speed).
  • Developing maintenance standards and processes for assigned product lines.
  • Building maintenance skills within the technical team.
  • Conducting maintenance activities (planned and unplanned) using TPM methodologies.
  • Applying structured problem-solving techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings to provide engineering updates and agree on resource allocation.
  • Resolve recurring losses using systematic problem-solving to identify root causes.
  • Assist Shift Technicians with investigations into breakdowns, waste, and speed losses.
  • Coach team members on maintenance tasks and processes.
  • Support continuous improvement (CI) projects to boost equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate on maintenance planning and execute preventative and opportunistic maintenance.
  • Maintain equipment settings and ensure proper documentation of changes.
  • Record maintenance activities, spares usage, and report abnormalities.
  • Lead response and escalation for equipment breakdowns.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed effectively.

About You:

  • Qualifications:HNC or Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience:At least 5 years of technical/manufacturing experience, including work with high-speed automated assembly and packaging equipment.
  • Leadership experience in a technical team within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong team-building and collaboration skills.
  • Independent thinker who performs well under pressure.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, ergonomics, and Quality Systems in manufacturing.
  • PLC experience is desirable but not essential.
