 As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with diverse learning needs. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with teachers, helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Here are the key aspects of the role:

  • Offer personalised 1:1 assistance to pupils with special educational needs, adapting teaching techniques to foster their confidence and independence.
  • Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver activities and support pupils during transitions and daily routines.
  • Help pupils regulate their behaviour and emotions and encourage positive interactions and social skills.
  • Contribute to formal SEND assessments whilst also sharing insights with families and home schools.
  • Our goal is to facilitate a swift return to long-term education settings.
  • Work alongside other teaching assistants, teachers, and support staff.

Requirements:

  • Compassion, patience, and flexibility.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in helping children succeed.
  • Experience in schools, education settings or alternative provisions is necessary.
