Are you passionate about empowering young people with employability skills and supporting them with their future? Long-term Teachers is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Employability Skills Teacher to join a forward-thinking organisation supporting post-16 learners. This role involves delivering high quality education, mentoring unqualified teaching staff and working closely with employers, local authorities and partner agencies to maximise student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging employability skills lessons to ensure positive learner outcomes

  • Mentor and support Instructors (unqualified teachers) and Learning Support Assistants

  • Develop engaging learning resources and support curriculum planning

  • Foster relationships with employers, parents and external stakeholders

  • Provide pastoral support, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Support learners with SENF and contribute to their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

  • Track student progress, administer assessments and maintain accurate records

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety and educational standards

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 5 DET, DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience, ideally including GCSE curriculum delivery

  • Experience working with SEND learners and embedding core skills (English, ICT and Maths)

  • Strong communication, organisational and ICT skills

  • Ability to engage, inspire and retain learners

  • Flexibility to travel for work as required

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
