We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity to work as a learning mentor, playing a crucial role in supporting pupils who have had difficulty thriving in mainstream school, special schools or are returning from out of county placements.
Students receive a high level of support, often including one-to-one mentoring and customised timetables following thematic learning experiences. With a combination of classroom and off-site activities, the school focuses on engaging students, fostering resilience and creating a strong foundation for their academic growth.
We are seeking full time learning mentors to support the Plymouth provisions. We will ensure you are placed at the most suitable provision that aligns with your skills and experiences.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
-
To hold a current DBS on the update service or willing to get one
-
Be confident working within small groups and 1:1
-
Relevant experience working with children (or adults) with special educational needs
-
A passion for working with children and young people in SEN settings
-
Have a full UK driving licence and have your own vehicle
-
Minimum of level 3 qualification or equivalent
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who has experience working within a SEN setting and has a passion to develop this further. This role would also be perfect for someone with a healthcare/support worker/sports coach background.
There will be opportunities to progress onto a permanent position should you prove to be an excellent addition to the team.
