Plymouth based employer of choice and a market leader in their field delivering innovative solutions to the aerospace and automotive industries worldwide, is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced Resource Deployment Manager, this is a newly created role in the organisation.

As a resource manager, you will be responsible for executing the manning plan across various operational areas, ensuring that the right personnel with the appropriate skills are deployed effectively. This role focuses on managing workforce deployment, including handling holidays, absences, and training needs, while fostering strong employee relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deployment Management: Execute the pre-calculated manning plan by deploying personnel to meet operational needs.
  • Workforce Coordination: Manage shift patterns and work schedules to optimise resource allocation.
  • Absence Management: Monitor and manage employee absences, always ensuring suitable coverage for production operation.
  • Training Oversight: Identify and coordinate skills training needs to enhance team capabilities.
  • Employee Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with employees, promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on deployment effectiveness, adjusting as necessary to meet operational demands.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in business administration, project management or a related field - highly desirable.
  • Professional certification in resource management or project management - desirable.
  • Proven experience in workforce management, preferably in a role involving shift organisation and resource allocation. Experience gained within a Manufacturing environment preferred but other industries will be considered.
  • Experience utilising resource management software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems - desirable.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum - desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and develop employee relationships.
  • A detail-oriented mindset to maintain accurate resource records and documentation.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • A strategic perspective, with the ability to think proactively and implement resource management strategies that align with organisational goals.
