Plymouth
Up to £39,500 per annum + excellent shift allowance + bonus + overtime
7am - 3pm & 3pm - 11pm - rotating shift

Acorn by Synergie is looking for a talented Tool Maker to join their client's manufacturing team in Plymouth. In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilise your problem solving skills to continuously improve our processes and designs. As a Tool Maker, you will be responsible for fabricating and commissioning new jigs and fixtures, as well as providing reactive repairs on press tooling and machine parts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct reactive repairs on press tooling and machine parts to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Record all activities and document any changes made to the tools and fixtures.
- Assist maintenance engineers with breakdowns, repairs and installations to ensure smooth operation of our machinery.
- Work closely with the production team to identify any issues and provide effective solutions to improve overall efficiency.
- Utilise your technical expertise to make suggestions for continuous improvement in processes and designs.

Requirements:
- Strong understanding of tooling and fixture design principles.
- Proficient in using various hand and power tools.
- Experience with CNC machining and programming.
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Proven track record of using continuous improvement methodologies to enhance processes and designs.
