Marine Fabricator - Devonport Dockyard

We are currently seeking experienced Marine Fabricators at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on warships.

As a Marine Fabricator, you will utilise your fabrication experience to undertake structural repairs and alterations on a wide range of platforms. You will work with engineering drawings and technical specifications to manufacture structural modules, fabricate and alter structures in a variety of metals and thicknesses.

Key responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Follow work instructions
- Competently use general workshop tools and machinery specific to fabrication

Experience and qualifications:
- Previous experience in marine engineering, preferably with Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels, or large commercial ships
- Relevant experience in other engineering sectors will also be considered
- Experience working in a marine engineering environment is desirable

Qualifications required:
- Indentured apprenticeship in a relevant field
- Level 3 modern apprenticeship in sheet metal, structural steel, or fabrication
- Level 3 engineering qualification

Security clearance:
- Ability to obtain and hold UK Security Check (SC) clearance

To start as soon as clearance is obtained.


Contract Duration - 6 Months initially

PAYE - £19.45 per standard hour, Back-shift £24.31 per hour (Pre 12 weeks) , Day-shift & Back-shift £22.95 per hour (Post 12 weeks)

PAYE-UMBRELLA - £24.16 per standard hour, Back-shift £30.36 per hour (Pre 12 weeks)

- £24.71 per standard hour, Day-shift & Back-shift £29.27 per hour (Post 12 weeks)
