gap personnel Exeter are currently recruiting Fabricators to join our client at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth – supporting key operations across Warships, Submarines, and factory-based engineering projects.
The Role:
As a Marine Fabricator, you’ll be working on a wide range of platforms, delivering structural repairs, alterations, and fabrication solutions using a variety of metals and thicknesses. Your work will support high-profile defence engineering projects within a secure and safety-driven environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manufacturing structural modules and fabricating/altering structures
- Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Using general workshop tools and fabrication machinery
About You:
We’re looking for candidates with:
- A Level 3 Engineering qualification or relevant Apprenticeship (Indentured or Modern in fabrication, structural steel, or sheet metal)
- Experience in the marine engineering sector, ideally on Royal Navy vessels, submarines, or commercial ships
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- A safety-first mindset and the ability to interpret work instructions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team
Pay & Hours:
- Up to £20.84/hour, paid weekly
- Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 15:30
- Friday: 07:30 – 12:30(35 hours per week)
