As Bookkeeper, you will report in Senior Management and will be responsible for day-to-day finance, including bookkeeping up to trial balance. You will also liaise with the external Accountant.
Key responsibilities for the Bookkeeper will include:
- General bookkeeping including VAT, bank postings, etc.
- Bank reconciliation
- Sales and purchase invoicing
- Payment runs
- Credit control
- General finance responsibilities, as directed and required, up to trial balance
- Payroll duties including RTI, pensions and HMRC reporting
- Ad hoc office duties when needed
- Have previous experience in a similar finance position, ideally within an SME
- Have knowledge of payroll processes (even for smaller payrolls)
- Be able to work on your own initiative, as well as part of a small team
- Have knowledge of using accountancy software such as Xero, Sage, Quickbooks, etc. with the capability to be able to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Be confident in using Excel and creating forecasting and projections
- Be customer-focused and have excellent communication skills
Based on the outskirts of York, this role is commutable from York, Dunnington, Pocklington, Elvington, Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, Market Weighton, Howdenand surrounding areas.
