Job description

Job Summary
Russell Taylor are seeking additional class 1 drivers to work for a client based in Pontefract. The work will involve both multi drop and trunk work working across various contracts. Handball will be minimum with most runs being 1 drop.

Drivers will be expected to be able to strap loads correctly and transport any good safely.

The client is a 7 day working business with various start times.

Mon - Fri days: £15.75 p/h

Mon - Fri nights: £17.30 p/h

Weekend days: £17.30 p/h

Weekend nights: £18.50 p/h

Requirements

  • C+E Licence with no more than 6 points with no major endorsements
  • Valid CPC and Digi card
  • Min 6 months class 1 experience due to insurance purposes.

Duties

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads for safe transport.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
