A special school in Pontefract is seeking a full-time or flexible part-time classroom support assistant for students aged 11 to 19 with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Candidates must have at least 6 months of UK experience in a special school or similar setting and hold qualifications such as GCSE passes or GNVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
The role offers competitive rates of pay between £98 and £108 per day, compliant with Agency Worker Regulations (AWR).
Experience with students who have profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), Autism, and other complex needs is essential, along with a willingness to undergo a Child and Adult Workforce DBS check.

We have an exciting opportunity at the special school in Pontefract that cater for students age range 11 19 years old could be a good fit if you're interested in working with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Severe complex or profound multiple learning difficulties. Among this many of the students contend with additional needs, including Autism, sensory impairment, challenging behaviour, as well as medical and physical difficulties. Essential Requirements:

At least 6 months UK experience working in a special school or a similar setting

GCSE passes, GNVQ Level 2 or higher in Health and Social Care

Experience supporting students with PMLD, severe complex needs, Autism, sensory impairment, challenging behaviour, medical and physical difficulties.

Manual Handling and/or Team Teach training (advantageous if you have CPD in these areas)

Child and Adult Workforce DBS subscribed to the annual subscription service. Or willing to apply for one.
