SEN Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join aninclusive and supportive team in a primary school. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) within a school setting, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with additional needs, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and behavioural challenges.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities that cater to the individual needs of SEN students.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.
  • Implement SEN strategies and interventions to promote student engagement and learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create and maintain individual education plans (IEP's) for students.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with children with SEN, either in a school or similar setting.
  • A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to adapt to individual student needs and learning styles.
  • Familiarity with SEN strategies and interventions, and a commitment to ongoing professional development in this area.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for inclusive education.
