Pontefract RUFC are looking for a Physiotherapist / Sports Therapist for their 2025/26 season. This will commence end of summer 2025 and possibly have a few ad hoc games during the summer. The successful physiotherapist will be required to support players on 25 matchdays ('home’ games at Moor Lane, Carleton, Pontefract and 'away’ games throughout Yorkshire, on Saturdays during the rugby season from September 2025 to April 2026) and usually one evening a week prior to training at the Clubhouse on either Tuesday or Thursday from 18.30 during the same period.

Principal responsibilities

Pitch-side care during matchdays, including first aid, strapping, injury treatment. Prior to training, injury treatment and sports massage.

Knowledge, skills

Applicants must hold a BSc Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy or equivalent, membership of the relevant society or regulator, current first aid qualifications, some experience in working in a rugby or athletic environment, and hold full indemnity insurance.

Hours of work and remuneration

Saturdays for the period stated above for approximately 4.5 hours and one evening a week for approximately 1.5 hours. A set weekly fee of £110.00 is paid for home and away matches as well as injury treatment prior to a training session.
