I am supporting a single-form entry primary school in the Pontefract area, seeking an experienced and reliable higher level teaching assistant (HLTA) to support their early years foundation stage (EYFS) class on a full-time basis, to start ASAP!

The role:As a HLTA within this school, you will be based in the EYFS class, supporting the class teacher to create a stimulating and engaging learning environment for all pupils. You will effectively utilize a variety of learning equipment and implement positive behaviour strategies to promote learning and engagement. You will provide 1:1 and group support to pupils, focusing on phonics sessions, assessments, and learning through play to further develop and encourage their social and emotional growth. Additionally, you will offer general classroom support and deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher and during PPA time.

To be considered:You must have:

  • Full "Right to Work" in the UK and a minimum of 40 days of referenceable.
  • Experience supporting EYFS/reception-aged students within the last 2 years.
  • Expert knowledge of the EYFS national curriculum.
  • Relevant teaching assistant qualification.
  • Experience covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
