SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Contract: Full-Time, January 2025 - July 2025 (with potential for extension)

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (one to one) to provide one-to-one support, ensuring individualized attention and care to help a pupil succeed at a primary school in the Pontefract area.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver tailored support to a pupil with special educational needs, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Adapt and implement learning activities to suit the pupil’s unique needs and abilities.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop and maintain an effective support plan.
  • Monitor and document the pupil’s progress, providing regular updates to the SENCO and class teacher.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging the pupil’s active participation and engagement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally within a primary school setting.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support.
