SEN Teaching Assistant
- Location: Pontefract
- Contract: Full-Time, January 2025 - July 2025 (with potential for extension)

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (one to one) to provide one-to-one support, ensuring individualized attention and care to help a pupil succeed at a primary school in the Pontefract area.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver tailored support to a pupil with special educational needs, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Adapt and implement learning activities to suit the pupil’s unique needs and abilities.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop and maintain an effective support plan.
- Monitor and document the pupil’s progress, providing regular updates to the SENCO and class teacher.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging the pupil’s active participation and engagement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally within a primary school setting.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
