We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a well-regarded special school in Wakefield.About the School:Our institution caters to children aged 9-16 with diverse needs, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and associated behavioural challenges. We are committed to preparing every pupil for a positive future by developing their academic, social, and emotional skills, ensuring they are equipped for further education, employment, or training.Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils, fostering both academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized education plans.
  • Employ strategies to help pupils manage and regulate their emotions and behaviours.
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes learning and development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential.
  • Familiarity with Team Teach or similar behaviour management approaches is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting young people.
