Matthew James Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our client on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimising transportation routes and ensuring efficient logistics operations. This position requires strong organisational skills, effective communication abilities, and proficiency in IT tools to manage transport planning tasks effectively.

4 on 4 off *DAYS* - 06:00 - 18:00

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement efficient transport plans to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Analyse transportation data to identify trends and improve service levels.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders to understand their transport needs.
  • Manage logistics operations, including route planning and scheduling.
  • Utilise software such as Excel and Word for data analysis and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of transport activities and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience in a transport planning or logistics role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to drive and possess a valid driving licence is preferred.
  • Familiarity with IT systems related to transport management is beneficial.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
