Position Summary: As a Senior Environmental Engineer/Design Manager you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of environmental remediation projects. This role involves developing innovative remediation strategies, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and managing project teams. You will also be expected to collaborate with clients, regulatory stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver effective and sustainable remediation solutions. This role therefore required strong technical expertise and project management skills.

We are a fast growing and dynamic business that will provide you opportunities and structured support and training to grow your skills and knowledge in the remediation industry. Subject to your experience you will be required to regularly visit active remediation/construction sites, sometimes spending time away from home. Other times you will be expected to work closely with junior and senior colleagues at one of our two office locations.

Remediation Design & Development

Develop comprehensive remediation designs and strategies for contaminated sites

Prepare detailed Remediation Method Statement and other supporting documents.

Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

Project Management

Support with the planning and management of remediation projects from conception to completion.

Support developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project milestones are met.

Compliance

Ensure all remediation activities comply with relevant UK environmental regulations and best practice.

Prepare and submit regulatory permits and key project reports.

Liaise with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders.

Fieldwork

Provide technical guidance and oversight during remediation activities.

Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies.

Oversee the implementation of remediation systems and monitor their performance.

Project Leadership

Identify and communicate potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Lead and mentor project team members and co-ordinate with sub-contractors to maintain quality standards.

Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor, Masters or (equivalent) degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeological or relatable Civil Engineering/Engineering course.

Experience: 7 to 10 years experience in the remediation industry with a minimum of 3 years design experience.

Certification: Relevant Professional body and/or HSE/Construction related certification is advantageous

Technical Skills: Proficiency using GIS, AutoCAD and Risk Modelling packages will be advantageous.

General Skills: Confident communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have a UK driving license.
