Job Elements
- The IT Support Engineer is responsible for supporting a manufacturing site of about 80 employees for all things IT.
- This is a 12 month contract with occasional travel to other company offices.
- To diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems and across a range of software applications (SAP, Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Android, iOS)
- To take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible; escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary.
- Interacting and working alongside 1st Line Service Desk as required
- To accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system.
- To install and configure new IT equipment.
- To resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware
- To resolve incidents with printers, copiers and scanners
- To maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner.
- To communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization
- To create, maintain and publish relevant support documentation in order to assist all staff in the quick resolution of their incidents and service requests and enable users to become more self-sufficient.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience as a deskside support specialist within a manufacturing environment 3 - 5 years
- Experience with MRP systems (ideally SAP) - 3-5years
- Experience with all End User Microsoft products.
- End user support and soft skills - in person and over phone
- Network troubleshooting skills - ping, traceroute, etc…
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in relevant subject
- Good knowledge around IT infrastructure and networks
- Experience walking end users through troubleshooting steps over phone - 3-5 years
