Brook Street are working with a highly reputable company based in Pontypool who are recruiting for a Finance Officer. We are looking for someone with at least three years in a finance team, preferably with knowledge of Xero software. You should be detail-oriented and ready to hit the ground running with minimal training. The role is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week with Flexitime, and is heavily geared towards Sales Ledger



Responsibilities

  • Processing invoices and payments accurately and efficiently.

  • Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements.

  • Reconciling bank statements and other financial records.

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.

  • Handling petty cash and expenses.

  • Providing administrative support to the finance team.

  • Assisting with budget preparation and monitoring.

  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.

  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Contributing to the development and improvement of financial processes and systems.



Requirements

  • Proven experience in a finance or accounting role.

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.

  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A proactive and problem-solving approach.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting (e.g., AAT Level 2 or higher) are desirable.
