Job Overview:As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes. Your role is pivotal in ensuring smooth financial operations by processing, verifying, and reconciling supplier invoices and payments accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Receive, process, and verify supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorisation.
  • Payments Management: Prepare and process weekly or monthly payment runs, ensuring timely payments to suppliers.
  • Reconciliations: Reconcile supplier statements to ensure accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Query Resolution: Address and resolve any invoice discrepancies or payment issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Data Entry: Maintain accurate and organised records in the accounting system.
  • Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly reports, including aged creditors and accruals.
  • Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with company policies and financial regulations.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable role is highly desirable.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Basic knowledge of accounting principles
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry and payment processing.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong time management and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well within a team and collaborate with other departments.
