A market leading manufacturer of specialised equipment are currently looking to recruit for a Design Engineer for their family run business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take on more responsibility and become a Senior Design Engineer. Are you looking for a business that prioritises a healthy work / life balance? Role & Responsibilities:

The Design Engineer is responsible for ensuring efficient and successful assembly and testing of the special projects. The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, mechanical/electrical and hydraulic system designs.

  • Ensure the provision of efficient high quality engineering design projects
  • Offer support and guidance to more junior members of the team.
  • Check/review engineering analysis and design to standards
  • Assist in mentoring and training the broader team
  • Support production during First Of Type (FOT) assemblies
  • Prepare, update and compile the latest assembly/build documentation (General assembly, sub-system assembly, schematics and build notes) and prepare a document pack prior to the start of build.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in a previous Mechanical Design Engineering position
  • Ideally have a background from Railway, heavy plant / engineering or mobile machinery
  • BSc/BEng Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Familiar with mechanical parts and hydraulic systems
