Role: Automotive Polishing TechnicianLocation: PontypoolSalary: £28,000 per annumShifts: DaysPertemps are recruiting for a skilled Automotive Polishing Technician on behalf of our client who is looking to add to their team permanent basis. The role will include rectifying paint of parts using a machine operated polisher.The Role:
  • Use machine-operated and hand polishers to rectify paint defects like inclusions and orange peel.
  • Prepare surfaces and measure paint thickness to achieve premium finishes.
  • Collaborate with teams to resolve issues and suggest process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Document processes and adhere to build instructions.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience in paint rectification and surface defect correction.
  • An understanding of sanding materials and the polishing process
  • Automotive trade certification in machine polishing or detailing.
  • Knowledge of paint thickness measurements and finishes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proactive approach with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in paint processing and corrective actions.
