Social Worker

Social Worker | Children and Families Team | Torfaen Council

We are looking for a Social Worker with current Social Work experience to join a busy front door team. The role is a mixture of Child Protection, Assessment and Looked after Children and will be predominantly home based with office days ideally twice a week and community visits as per procedure.

Duties:

• Experience of assessment, CIN, CP and court work
• Undertaking initial and core assessments
• Carrying a caseload of children in need, and child protection cases and implementing multi agency plans to address needs and risk and take the lead professional role where appropriate
• Working with Children and Families to achieve the desired outcome
• Discharging care orders
• Attending and Participating in Strategy meetings
• Conducting Looked after Children Reviews
• Completing Care Plans
• Child Permanence Reports (CPR)
• Completing Pathway Plans

To be considered, you must have a Social Work qualification (Diploma in Social Work, Social Work Degree or equivalent) as well as at least 3 years post qualified experience working as a Qualified Social Worker within a similar team.
