We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Payroll and Pensions Manager to join a dynamic and fast-paced team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee payroll operations, manage a small team, and contribute to the efficient delivery of payroll services across multiple schedules and pension schemes.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Collaborate with an outsourced provider for payroll processing and maintain in-house systems.
  • Lead and develop a small team, promoting efficiency and high standards.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including HMRC and pension regulations.
  • Provide accurate data to support financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience managing complex payroll operations with variable pay elements.
  • Strong Excel skills, including data manipulation and formula use.
  • Experience leading and developing teams.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional weekends to meet tight deadlines.
  • Desirable: Experience with defined benefit pension schemes or iTrent payroll systems.
