Stores / Materials Team Leader

Experience of managing complex stock levels in fast-paced manufacturing environments?

Knowledge of using and optimising MRP systems and able to deliver best practice processes to reduce risk?

We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Materials Team Leader to join and lead our clients existing team. As a key player in the operation, you'll oversee the daily activities of the Materials department, ensuring efficient material flow and optimal stock management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a small dedicated team, providing guidance and support.
  • Daily Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations, including stock control, material booking, and equipment operation.
  • Stock Management: Optimise inventory levels, ensure accurate records and coordinate with suppliers for orders and delivery lead times.
  • Internal Relationships: Work with internal teams including supply chain, purchasing and production to ensure stock levels are kept at optimal levels to ensure timely production and dispatch of completed goods.
  • MRP System: Be responsible for updating the MRP system to fully optimise it’s use and reduce the chances of human error in the stock flow process.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or experience in a senior role with a desire to move to a leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of materials management and recycling processes
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience with SAP (preferred) or similar ERP systems
