  • The role requires a CIMA or ACCA qualified candidate with a track record in financial planning and analysis, and at least 5 years of relevant experience.

With impressive year on year growth, our client is a retail and ecommerce business which currently has an opportunity for a Head of Finance to assume complete ownership of the entire finance and credit functions as well as being project owner of key transformation projects.

What will the Head of Finance role involve?

  • Support in the delivery of the overall business strategy, business objectives;
  • Development of 3 year rolling business plan, annual budgets and annual forecasts;
  • Management of all annual financial reporting and audit requirements ensuring that all statutory deadlines are achieved;
  • Development of margin, channel and category strategies;
  • Project Ownership of digital transformation requirements of the business;
  • Implementation of effective and efficient internal controls;
  • Development of a rigorous month end process including timely and accurate reporting and analysis;
  • Roll out of company guidelines to ensure all statutory and operational requirements are met;
  • Management of relationships with auditors, HMRC, banks and other key stakeholders;
  • Negotiation of debt / financing facilities with banks/non-banks and evolving this as per company growth targets;
  • Maintenance of legal discipline with the organisation, reviewing contracts and closing any gaps in the legal structure;
  • Oversight of the monthly payroll, and ownership over HR function (HR is outsourced);
  • Effective foreign exchange management;
  • Transformation projects including business intelligence, debt management tool, digital returns management and improved returns transparency, plus lifecycle product management.

Suitable Candidate for the Head of Finance role:

  • CIMA, ACCA qualified;
  • Track record of simplify the existing ways of working and looking for efficiencies to enable more time to be spent analysing the business and help with wider business strategy by working collaboratively with other stakeholders;
  • Commercially minded and able to see beyond the numbers when presenting to the board;
  • Previous exposure to financial planning and analysis.
