As Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks for bespoke sheet metal and fabricated components.
- Continuously improving and evolving existing designs to enhance functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Producing accurate and comprehensive drawings and documentation for production and assembly.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility, resolve technical challenges, and optimise processes.
- Supporting prototyping, testing, and iterative improvements to refine designs.
- Ensuring all designs meet customer specifications and comply with internal quality standards.
As Design Engineer, your skills and experience will include:
- Proven experience in a mechanical design engineering role, ideally within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Sound understanding of fabrication processes, materials and design for manufacturability.
- A passion for problem-solving and an eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with different teams.
