My client supplies products to a wide range of household name retail clients. A fantastic opportunity is available for an experience National Account Manager to join their growing team. Working as part of the Commercial Team this role is responsible for building and developing relationships with National retail accounts.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a similar position dealing with National level retailers and presenting to Buyers.
Job Overview
- Be responsible for the growth and development of your accounts and achieve the company’s financial targets.
- Hold a detailed knowledge of the customer’s range, business and KPI’s, to identify commercially viable gaps and opportunities.
- Utilise company resource to best effect and drive projects through internal processes to a successful outcome.
- Develop excellent relationships with your customers, ensuring that we’re developing and supplying product ranges which meet the needs of their customers and themselves.
Key Responsibilities
- Beat internal sales, margin and share targets.
- Create and maintain a plan for each of your National Accounts, to include opportunities in range renewal, new product ideas, beating competitors, short term promotions, pricing, route-to-market etc.
- Manage development projects through our internal processes to meet customer expectations, ensuring timely and complete communication and information for all supporting departments.
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with the customer and delegate or escalate issues to a successful conclusion.
- Develop a strong personal relationship with the customer and ensure other team members do the same.
- Provide guide prices to Design for all customer specific development to ensure relevant outcome and avoid wasted resource .
- Continually review business performance to ensure continuous optimization of Poole sales and margin.
- Organise and manage regular customer meetings.
- Prepare for meetings, ensuring samples, costs, designs, presentations and proposals are ready.
- Assist with annual terms and price negotiations.
- Assist with financial reporting including budgets, forecasts and costs.
- Manage product lifecycle with Supply Chain team and customer, to ensure minimum trading inventory level and 'end of life’ stock costs.
- Keep the business informed re. customer and product news and developments, both good and bad.
- Know competitor activity and ranges and feedback all relevant activity to the business
.
Experience Required
- 5 or more years’ experience, within a relatable business and which must include experience of dealing with National level retailers and presenting to Buyers.
