We are looking for an experienced National Business Development Manager to join the team of our client whose head offices are in the Poole area.  The successful candidate will be field based 4 out of 5 days per week, and 1 day in the Poole office, working alongside the internal support teams. Previous experience of working in a National Sales position is essential, as you will need to be used to vast amounts travel across the UK.  Previous experience of working in a Product Distribution / manufacturing environment would be preferable, but strong national sales and transferable skills from a different industry sector, will be considered as well. The successful candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, and passionate about customer acquisition and developing long standing relationships.  Strong Commercial acumen is essential for this position, as you will be meeting with senior stakeholders and decision makers, understanding their pain points and requirements, in order to offer the right support, products and services to them. Given that you will be client facing, you will need to demonstrate a calm, professional and considered approach as the sales ambassador for our client. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE NATIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER: • Manage and grow existing customer relationships, with a strategic partnership approach• Book in and attend face to face meetings with prospect customers and establish regular meetings thereafter, on a rotational basis to manage your time and workload effectively.  • Identify and seize business opportunities for the division across all industry verticals, demonstrating your passion for growth and innovation • Work closely with internal service and support teams to ensure an excellent standard of after-sales service is provided • Identify new business opportunities that will grow market share within particular vertical market • Strategic account management to ensure smooth and profitable operation of accounts • Focus on profitable growth and successfully deliver change management where required, to ensure full integration between with the customer • Ensure customers receive exceptional service, understanding their needs and aligning solutions to meet those needs effectively • Generate high margin sales to new customers, making the most of every opportunity to enhance our clients market presence • Regularly assess sales performance, adjusting strategies in line with a focus on continued growth and success • Managing the end-to-end sales process from initial prospect, through to conversion, sales and orders, promotions and after sales / customer service • Track sales calls and visits ensuring that you are achieving agreed key performance indicators within your position.SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  • Previous National Sales experience is essential - B2B / B2D / B2C• The ability to demonstrate new business sales achievements• Strong commercial acumen with experience of P&L, budgets and forward planning• Previous experience of working to ambitious targets – you will be managing in excess of £1m worth of customer accounts• Strong negotiation and persuasion skills with a focus on profitable growth • Willingness to travel around the UK, which will include overnight stays.BENEFITS / PACKAGE:• Extremely competitive basic salary, and bonus scheme• 22 days holiday, with buy and sell scheme in place.• Pension• On site parking• Company car with expenses and fuel• Free lunches on Fridays (ideally you will work from the office on a Friday, to benefit from this!)• Free snacks and a lovely break out kitchen area• Corporate and company social events• Administration team in the office to support with day-to-day sales support queries, updates and customer care so that you are in a position to focus on driving sales and profits.
