CNC Machinist, Bournemouth, £43,750

Purpose

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality components that meet precise specifications. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Background

Our client is a well-established manufacturing company who specialise in advanced equipment. They are seeking a motivated CNC Turner to join their skilled team in Poole. There are alternating weekly shifts:

Week 1: Monday – Friday, 6.00 am – 2.00 pm Week 2: Monday – Friday, 2.00 pm – 10.00 pm

As a CNC Machinist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and operating CNC machines and conducting tool changes. 
  • Following machining processes to ensure components meet precise specifications
  • Conducting self-inspections of finished parts using precision measuring equipment
  • Collaborating with team members to optimise production and resolve technical issues
  • Escalating machine malfunctions to minimize downtime
  • Logging daily output targets and identifying issues with potential solutions
  • Maintaining and improving 5S standards in the cell

Knowledge and Skills Required as a CNC Machinist:

  • Prior experience as Setting & Operating CNC Machines in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
