CNC Miller | Poole | £20/hr

Purpose

As a CNC Miller, you will be an integral part of the production team, overseeing the programming, setting up, and operation of XYZ CNC Mills. Working with state-of-the-art CNC machinery, you’ll produce components to high levels of accuracy.

Key Duties as an XYZ Miller:

  • Program, set up, and operate XYZ CNC Mills, with the potential to work with lathes and manual machines (Siemens controls).
  • Interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications to program machines for the production of accurate and high-quality components.
  • Produce a variety of machined components using different materials, such as stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium, and exotic metals.
  • Using measurement equipment to inspect work against technical specifications.
  • Work to tight tolerances and handle both batch runs and one-off components.

The successful CNC Miller will:

  • Have experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC Mills and lathes, training can be provided to help fill gaps in knowledge.
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings and work with a variety of materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight tolerances.
  • Familiarity with using measuring equipment and performing self-inspections.
  • A positive, self-motivated attitude with a focus on quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices in a workshop environment.
