CNC Setter Operator | Poole | up to £24/hr DOE

Purpose

As a CNC Setter Operator, you will be an integral part of the engineering team working late shifts. You’ll be responsible for setting, operating and programming on Fanuc Machines.

Background
This well-known business has been in operation for over 30 years and has built a reputation for manufacturing high quality components and assemblies into the aerospace and special purpose industries.

Shifts are 16:00pm – 02:00am Mon - Thurs

Key Duties as a CNC Setter Operator:

  • Set up and operate Fanuc machines, as well as having a hand in programming where appropriate.
  • Interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications to program machines for the production of accurate and high-quality components.
  • Produce a variety of machined components using different materials, such as stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium, and exotic metals.
  • Using measurement equipment to inspect work against technical specifications.
  • Work to tight tolerances and handle both batch runs and one-off components.

The successful CNC Setter Operator will:

  • Have experience of setting up and operating CNC Mills and lathes.
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings and work with a variety of materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight tolerances.
  • Familiarity with using measuring equipment and performing self-inspections.
  • A positive, self-motivated attitude with a focus on quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices in a workshop environment.
