Purpose
As a Wood Shop Machinist, you will operate a variety of CNC machinery to prepare wood and other timbre-based materials.

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a Wood Shop Machinist will be:
• Set up and safe use of a range of woodworking equipment and CNC machinery, including Edge banders and Beam Saw
• Cutting and shaping wood
• Feeding wood into the machines
• Reading and understand technical drawings
• Selecting the right type and quantity of wood for projects
• Cleaning wood shop tools and working environment
• Carrying out routine servicing and doing some mechanical repairs to the machinery
• Manage stock inventory with regular checks and responsive ordering
Background
The successful Wood Shop Machinist will have:
• Have previous machining experience
• Have worked within a manufacturing environment
• Have worked with wood or have an interest with woodwork
• Be thorough and pay attention to detail
• Be a driven and proactive person with the ability to learn fast
• Be well organised, multi-tasking with the ability to multi-task
