Electrical and Software Design Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic and talented Electrical and Software Design Engineer to help expand our Clients product range and enhance their current solutions, adhering to the highest environmental and regulatory standards.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Create electrical schematic diagrams, panel layouts, and PLC wiring diagrams.
  • Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and order components.
  • Develop and edit software code for PCBs and PLCs.
  • Design electrical circuits and control panels, including wiring and cabling.
  • Translate customer requirements into detailed specifications.
  • Prepare test procedures and ensure traceability of results.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation to support designs.
  •  Collaborate with Sales, Service, Quality, Purchasing, and Production teams to ensure timely and compliant product delivery.
  • Support design and engineering processes to meet quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in an Electrical  design/engineering role.
  • Proficiency in electrical drawings and fault-finding.
  • Experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA software.
  • Familiarity with industrial networks like CANBUS.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or EPlan.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in creating supporting manufacturing documentation, wiring looms, and FPGA design.
  • Knowledge of product testing, QA procedures, analogue and digital circuit design, PCB design and layout.
  • Understanding of EMC/LVD regulations and microprocessor design.
  • Practical mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and legal right to work in the UK.
