We are seeking a dynamic and talented Electrical and Software Design Engineer to help expand our Clients product range and enhance their current solutions, adhering to the highest environmental and regulatory standards.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Create electrical schematic diagrams, panel layouts, and PLC wiring diagrams.
- Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and order components.
- Develop and edit software code for PCBs and PLCs.
- Design electrical circuits and control panels, including wiring and cabling.
- Translate customer requirements into detailed specifications.
- Prepare test procedures and ensure traceability of results.
- Produce comprehensive documentation to support designs.
- Collaborate with Sales, Service, Quality, Purchasing, and Production teams to ensure timely and compliant product delivery.
- Support design and engineering processes to meet quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in an Electrical design/engineering role.
- Proficiency in electrical drawings and fault-finding.
- Experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA software.
- Familiarity with industrial networks like CANBUS.
- Experience with AutoCAD or EPlan.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Experience in creating supporting manufacturing documentation, wiring looms, and FPGA design.
- Knowledge of product testing, QA procedures, analogue and digital circuit design, PCB design and layout.
- Understanding of EMC/LVD regulations and microprocessor design.
- Practical mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills.
- Full UK driving licence and legal right to work in the UK.
