Early Years Teaching Assistant – Speech & Language Support
Location: Poole
Start Date: After Easter (Potential to continue into September)

GSL Education is currently seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant team and support pupils in Reception with speech and language difficulties. This exciting role will see you working with a small group of children outside of the classroom, focusing on developing their communication skills and supporting their progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a small group of Reception children with speech and language challenges outside of the classroom environment.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and the speech and language therapist to implement strategies and interventions.
  • Create a positive, nurturing environment that fosters confidence and encourages communication development.
  • Assist children with their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Encourage active participation and engagement in various activities designed to support speech and language improvement.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in some capacity (ideally in Early Years settings).
  • A caring and patient approach to working with young children.
  • Preferably experience in a Nursery or Reception setting.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about speech and language development techniques.
  • A passion for making a real impact on children's lives and development.
