Salary: £37,000 p/a
Hours: 40 per week, including lates, weekends, Bank Holidays, the ability to work flexibly is essential
Additional hours: Emergency on call as part of the roster, plus occasional sleep-in shifts (paid in addition to salary)
Locations: Primarily based in Poole, covering two sites in Poole and Bournemouth with our Head Office is based in Ringwood.

About the role
Reporting to the Registered Services Manager, the Team Manager will be responsible for safeguarding young people aged between 16 to 18 and managing a team of Support Workers across two supported living sites in Poole and Bournemouth.
You will provide advice and direction, ensuring that the team work effectively together to support the young people to stay safe and receive the right level of support when they need it. Youll act as a coach and mentor, providing a listening ear and sounding board for both your team and the young people.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining high standards and driving consistencies in line with Ofsted Regulations, Supported Housing Regulations 2023 and Beauforts policies and procedures
Promote strong awareness and consistency in the areas of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Support planning, taking every step necessary to ensure that young people are protected from neglect, abuse and exploitation
Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders including management teams, Social Services, Placing Authorities and the Local Authority
Be an advocate for young people, building relationships with social workers, college tutors and other key contacts, adhering to strict confidentiality
Demonstrate a commitment to quality assurance and compliance
Ensure that every young person has a structured support programme that focuses on developing self-reliance, supports inclusion and diversity, maximises their potential and is tailor-made for each individual, catering to their needs and preferences
Role model best practice for the support of young people, responding appropriately to challenging behaviours and emotional difficulties
Lead on matters of HR from recruitment of new team, learning and development needs, employee relations issues and supervisions
Management of buildings, facilities and health and safety across two sites
Daily administration and financial management tasks including record keeping, rostering, care planning, budgets, referrals and assessments
Instill an evidence-based culture, which is person centred, commands the confidence of commissioners and young people, and promotes multi-disciplinary and cross organisational working
About you
The successful candidate will be qualified as a minimum to NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Young People (or equivalent) and be willing to work towards a Level 5 in Leadership and Management.
To succeed in this role, you must be able to demonstrate previous supervisory orleadership experience within the same or similar sector.
We will only consider applications from candidates with an excellent working knowledge of both supported housing and experience of young people who have a background of trauma, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
This role demands a variety of experience, skill and personal qualities, including resilience, confidence, sound judgement, confidentiality, excellent communication and relationship building skills, with plenty of positivity and a great sense of humour! Good administration, property knowledge, financial and technical skills will also help you to achieve your objectives.
