Mechanical Fitter

Poole, Dorset

Circa £30,000 + x1.5 overtime rate

Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00, Friday: 07:30 – 13:00

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the precise assembly, inspection, and testing of components, ensuring that high-quality standards are consistently met.  Working within a busy workshop environment, you will contribute to efficient production while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

As a Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assembling and disassembling components according to build specifications
  • Working to tight tolerances, ensuring all assemblies meet quality standards
  • Conducting inspections, performing repairs or replacements where necessary
  • Operating hoist cranes for safe lifting and movement of components
  • Using presses for the removal and fitting of bearings
  • Assisting with crack detection (NDT) and testing of components

As a Mechanical Fitter, your skills and experience will include:

  • Experience in mechanical engineering, assembly, or a similar role
  • Knowledge of relevant tools, including torque wrenches
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications
  • Strong team player with good communication skills
