Job OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee Insurance Broker. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with a strong interest in financial services and insurance. As a Trainee Insurance Broker, you will assist in providing tailored insurance solutions to clients, learning to assess risks, and building foundational knowledge in the insurance industry. You’ll receive training and mentorship from experienced professionals and gain valuable insights into the world of insurance brokering.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Assistance
- Understanding clients' needs, objectives, and risks to recommend appropriate insurance products.
- Handle inquiries from clients, gather information, and provide support to resolve issues.
- Develop relationships with clients to understand their changing insurance needs.
Policy Management and Documentation
- Prepare and manage client documentation, including quotes, applications, policy renewals, and endorsements.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and complies with regulatory and company guidelines.
- Assist in updating and maintaining client files and records.
- Conduct research on available insurance products, industry trends, and market rates.
- Prepare insurance quotes and proposals under the guidance of senior brokers.
- Support negotiations with insurers to find the best coverage at competitive prices for clients.
Risk Assessment
- Assist in analysing client risk profiles and identifying areas of exposure.
- Review client information to help determine appropriate levels of coverage and identify potential risk mitigation strategies.
Training & Development
- Participate in on-the-job training programs and workshops to develop industry knowledge, product expertise, and client service skills.
- Work towards achieving professional qualifications and certifications relevant to insurance broking.
Compliance & Regulatory Awareness
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
- Maintain knowledge of changes in insurance laws and market conditions affecting insurance products and policies.
- Education: A GCSE or equivalent qualification, including Maths.
- Licensing: Willingness to work towards obtaining required insurance licenses and certifications.
- Experience: Prior experience in customer service, sales, or financial services is a plus but not required.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to explain complex concepts to clients.
- Analytical Skills: Basic understanding of financial and insurance concepts, with strong analytical and research skills.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized with an eye for detail in reviewing documents and preparing quotes.
- Customer-Oriented: Ability to build rapport with clients, providing excellent service and maintaining a client-first approach.
