The data science function supports the RNLI through leveraging advanced analytical skills such as AI and machine learning to extract insights from complex data sets that will inform decision making.Some of the benefits- Salary £50,000 - £55,000 (dependent on experience)- Flexible working- 26 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays- Outstanding pension scheme (contributions of up to 16% of basic salary)- Life assurance- Health and dental cashplanYour roleAs a Senior Data Scientist, you will be tasked with focus on the following areas:- Using advanced statistics, AI and machine learning to draw patterns and correlations from large, complex datasets- Interpreting the outputs of this work to support senior leaders in making evidence-based decisions- Designing, developing and deploying machine learning models and AI for various applications throughout the RNLI- Leading the data science team, adopting industry standard ways of working and providing line management and mentorship to data science roles- Contributing to the construction of the RNLI data ecosystem, ensuring the data and tools (github, Azure, DataBricks and others) that are available are appropriate for the effective application of data science techniques.About youYou’ll be an experienced data scientist or senior data scientist who is a strong advocate for the use of AI/ML to drive improvement and efficiency within their organisation and enjoys identifying opportunities to apply data science techniques.
